Abstract
Recently, polymer coatings have been widely used to protect historical documents on paper from external influences. Known methods of preserving paper by laminating with polymer films require the use of high temperatures, as well as various solvents, which does not always have a positive effect on the safety of the document. Coatings made of poly-p-xylylene (PPX) and its derivatives, synthesized by gas-phase polymerization on surfaces , are free from these disadvantages. PPХ is a crystalline polymer with high barrier and dielectric properties, solvent resistance and good biocompatibility
